J-POWER entered into an agreement to participate in a project for the joint development of a high-efficiency large scale coal-fired power generation project (660MW×2) in Nanchang City, Jiangxi province, China (the “Xinchang Project”). J-POWER’s aim is to maintain and improve the reliability of the Xinchang Project as well as to contribute to environmental preservation in China by applying its experience which it has gained through the development and operation of its coal-fired ultra supercritical-pressure power stations in Japan.
