J-POWER is the Japan's largest electricity wholesaler. Since its foundation in 1952 J-POWER has been contributing to the Japanese economy, from postwar reconstruction to a rapid growth of the 1970s and 80s and to today's stable growth, by providing a stable, reliable energy supply. The company possesses hydro and thermal power stations with a total generating capacity of more than 16,000 MW, over 2,400 kilometers of transmission lines, substations and other associated facilities. J-POWER has been consistently engaging itself in all aspects of those facilities ranging from planning, design, construction and operation and maintenance.

>> Our Domestic Facilities

With the high level of technical skill and expertise it had developed in its domestic business, J-POWER embarked on overseas consultancy business in early 1960s. Since then the company has been involved in 300 projects in 63 countries/regions for over these 40 odd years, proving itself a reliable engineering consultant covering all aspects related with electric power and establishing a global presence. (as of March 2009)

The recent heightened concern over the environment and changing needs from its clients and the public at large in the current of privatization motivated J-POWER to diversify its consulting services into renewable energy sources such as solar and wind power, micro-hydropower, refuse-fuel power and biomass and into power utility management including power sector reform, organization reform, operation and maintenance improvement, ESCO, fuel management, and also into such fields not related with power as irrigation, flood control, water supply, underground oil storage, coal mine development.
